{"id":2229,"date":"2020-04-30T18:30:46","date_gmt":"2020-04-30T18:30:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.katislife.com\/?p=2229"},"modified":"2020-04-30T18:30:49","modified_gmt":"2020-04-30T18:30:49","slug":"orange-duck-for-easter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.katislife.com\/en\/2020\/04\/orange-duck-for-easter.html","title":{"rendered":"Orange Duck for Easter"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 id=\"ingredients-for-the-duck\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients for the duck:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>1 duck<\/li><li>Salt and Pepper<\/li><li>2 fresh rosemary<\/li><li>1 orange<\/li><li>2 anise star<\/li><li>1\/2 tsp ground cloves or 4 whole cloves<\/li><li>1 smaller cinnamon stick<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"preparation\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Preparation:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Wash and clean the duck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Use a shashlik stick or a big needle for the meat and pierce it through the skin on the duck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Put the duck in a big bowl and cover it with hot water for ten minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then take out the duck and dry it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pre-heat the oven to 220 degrees celcius.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Use a big pan that has grid and pour 200ml under the duck in the pan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Inside the duck add the salt, pepper, and ground cloves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then add salt to the outside as well with pepper and put it on the pan with the breast up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Inside the duck add the rosemary and cut oranges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cook in the oven for 20 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"ingredients-for-the-orange-sauce\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients for the Orange Sauce:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>1 orange<\/li><li>1 tbsp sugar free vanilla syrup<\/li><li>1 tbsp sugar free maple syrup<\/li><li>Little water<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"preparation-2\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Preparation:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Peel the orange and cut to small pieces and put it in a blender.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then pour it in a pan and add the water and syrups and cook until it starts to thicken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After 20 minutes set the oven to 170 degrees celcius.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Grease half of the duck with half of the orange sauce and put it back in the oven for 40 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After 40 minutes turn the duck and grease the other side with the orange sauce and cook for another 40 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then turn the duck again with the breast up and cook for 20 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Put some more water in the pan if needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cook the duck until it turns red.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When it\u2019s ready take out the duck and cover it with aluminium foil and a dish towel and leave it for 20 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"ingredients-for-the-butter-sauce\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients for the Butter Sauce:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>1 orange juice<\/li><li>2 tbsp butter<\/li><li>Drippings from the duck<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"preparation-3\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Preparation:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In a pan start to cook the dippings and add the orange juice and butter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When it starts to boil pour it in a bowl.
