Chicken Paprikas (Traditional Hungarian Dish)

Ingredients:

  • 1 whole chicken
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and Pepper
  • 2 tbsp red pepper powder
  • 1 tsp marjoram
  • 100 ml red wine
  • 1 red onion
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1 pepper
  • 1 tomato
  • 100 ml sour cream

Wash the chicken and cut it to pieces.

In a big pan put the oil or fat.

Add the cut onion with salt and start to cook.

After a couple minutes add the crushed garlic, cut pepper and tomato.

Cook for 5 minutes.

Then add the red pepper powder, marjoram, salt, pepper, and red wine.

Stir and when it’s boiling add the chicken.

Pour water until covered and cook slowly for two hours.

After two hours take out the meat from the liquid mixture it has been stewing in.

Put the remaining liquid mixture in a blender with sour cream and blend.

Put it back in the pan with the meat, cover it and leave it to rest.

You can make any kind of vegetable puree with this or cauliflower rice.

Ingredients for the coleslaw:

  • 1 cabbage
  • Salt
  • White pepper
  • 100 ml sour cream
  • 100 ml mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1/2 lemon juice

Cut the cabbage to small slices.

In a bowl mix everything together and add the cabbage.

Stir well and put it in the fridge for a couple hours.
